Tier 4 General Student Visa

Tier 4 General Student Visa is one of the types of student visas, which allows students to study in the UK on this visa. Students who are at least 16 years of age or over can study this visa. However, there are some other requirements that a student has to meet to study in the UK on Tier 4 general student visa. Students meeting the following eligibility condition can enroll in the school or colleges in the United Kingdom.

  • They are offered an admission in the university.
  • Students should be able to write, understand and speak English.
  • The students should have enough money to support his studies, meet living costs and also able to manage to meet their transportation costs.
  • Any of the students seeking admissions in the UK on Tier 4 general student visa should not belong to the one of the members of the European Economic Area or Switzerland national.

How Long It Will Take To Apply For A Visa

Normally, it takes 3 months to process an ordinary visa, but the total number of applications receive by the UK embassy decides the total time for the visa approval. In all the cases, the visa processing time does not lapse more than 3 months.

Costs To Apply For Visa

The visa processing fee is £310 to apply from outside the UK for the single applicant. It will also take £310 on each dependant applying for the visa.

What You Can Do?

A student can only study on this visa, work as sabbatical officer for the union and can stay in the UK. The number of working hours a student can avail depends on the duration of the visa.

What You Can't Do?

The Tier 4 visa does not allow applicants to get public funds while staying in the UK. A student can't work as the professional sportsperson on this type of the visa.

English Language Requirements

In order to be eligible for the UK visa, English language is mandatory or maybe undertake a test to prove your language abilities. If you have completed your education in any of the English speaking countries and the same is being recognized by the UK’s department of education, then there will be no need of language tests by the student.

What Documents Do You Need?

  • A passport or a valid travel document for entering the UK for the studies.
  • One color photograph of passport size with a name on the backside.
  • A bank statement or proof of financial status showing sufficient funds to support yourself during studies.
  • Parents will to allow to to study in the UK.
  • A admission letter from any recognized college of university.

How to Apply

If you are living outside the UK, then you can apply online by visiting the Embassy of UK website. You will be called to the UK embassy for biometric or fingerprint verification. Register yourself and apply online to get Tier 4 General student visa.
